Acceptable use

The short version

Do not use this service, now or when the detector launches, to harm people.

Specifically prohibited

• Submitting audio you have no right to submit.
• Using a finding to harass, defame or publicly accuse somebody, particularly on a score whose error rate you have not read.
• Presenting a finding as proof of authorship rather than as a statistical estimate.
• Automated access outside the terms of an API agreement, or any attempt to evade rate limits.
• Attempting to reverse-engineer the detector in order to build an evasion service.
• Reselling or redistributing findings as your own detection product without a written agreement.

On accusations

This matters enough to state separately. A false positive on a human musician's work can cost them a release, a royalty stream or a reputation, and there is currently no standardised appeals process anywhere in the industry. If you are acting on a finding in a way that affects somebody else, you owe them the threshold you used and the error rate in that band.
